Hey there! Last week sure got away from me. I typically do our meal plan on Monday’s, but this week is a little different since I’m traveling for work starting Wednesday then Trevor and I are going to the New York City Wine and Food Festival this coming weekend. I thought I’d give you a little weekend recap mixed with some of the delicious things we ate!
It was a crazy end to the week last week and I worked most of the weekend since it was Homecoming and Family Weekend at Union. It’s definitely one of the more fun weekends to work – lots of fun sporting events and I got to see the first part of the men’s hockey game Friday night which is always fun (Union is the 2014 men’s national hockey champions so the games are always packed and exciting!). I manage the College’s social media channels and part of that allows me to get some good access to grab photos for Instagram (like this one I took in the hallway before the team came out on the ice).
Saturday I was back at work while Trevor took the girls and Beau to the dog park in Saratoga and hung out for a bit. We went to a friend’s house Saturday night for their two year-old’s birthday party. Major bonus points for renting a bounce house because it kept the kids (and the dads!) occupied for most of the party.
On Sunday we ran some errands and checked out Primal (which used to be The Meat House). We got some awesome steak tips (pictured below with some mashed sweet potatoes and Brussel sprouts) and some absurdly huge bacon. It was all delicious, but definitely a splurge kind of a place! We also picked up some awesome local produce and fresh eggs at Healthy Living Market.
We had a great dog walk yesterday afternoon, but I’m totally bummed because I woke up this morning with a tick in my leg (I’ll spare you photos of that!). So stinking gross, but just waiting to see if I get a bulls eye. Oh, fall in New York is so glamourous.
