We are just hours away from the Gowan summer vacation and I’m in full prep mode. Packing clothes, sunscreen and plenty of small appliances. Yes, I bring my blender and juicer on vacation. What can I say? I’m a creature of habit and I need a smoothie at camp.
Moving on: the best part about Pinterest is the ability to just pin to your heart’s content, but I regularly pin things and never follow through. So this summer, I have my Summer Cooking Bucket List Pinterest board. It’s all the things I’m angling to cook this summer (especially on our little New England vacation). Here are some of the highlights:
- This Corn, Sweet Potato and Lobster Chowder (pictured above, [photo from Heather Cristo]) served with this loaf of Rosemary No-Knead Bread.
- This Seven-Layer Ice Cream Cake for the Fourth of July (what’s more American than ice cream, Martha Stewart and an overabundance of dessert?)
- Finally, Trevor has accepted the challenge to catch enough fish to make fish tacos. We’ll see if we’re eating some spicy bass tacos by the end of the week. If they’re a hit, I’ll share the details here!
