Hey guys! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Ours was busy, but really productive and I’m really excited to share the fruits of our DIY labor later this week! Our big project is coming to a close. We just have a few loose ends to tie up, but I’m hoping to have that post up for you guys on Friday morning. My kitchen is looking quite a bit snazzier these days.
This weekend we kicked off ice skating lessons at our local rink. This is Hadley’s second year and Bryn’s first year. Hadley is really doing so well and I’m excited to see her get better and better. Bryn is Bryn 🙂 She just barely met the age requirement so we knew she’d be one of the youngest in her class. She can actually skate and move around well, but she takes a little coaxing to do it (giving her a reward for doing it, etc.). They both did great, but it was a long afternoon and they were exhausted once we were done. We went home and chilled out the rest of the day and made some pizza. (we seriously eat this all the time, but I have a big post coming tomorrow about how we are eating up things that are in our pantry!)
Sunday morning I did all the grocery shopping while Trevor did more DIY stuff and the girls hung out. It rained like crazy all day so there was barely any chance to do much outside. Hadley had a friend come over to play, and I cleaned like a crazy woman all day. Seriously, when I finally sat down later that night, I could barely get off the couch. I made Trevor watch the Golden Globes (he seriously dislikes award shows), and I ate too much ice cream. Ugh.
I’ve been researching some online fitness options and I think I’m going to bite the bullet and just start doing it. I literally can’t make time in the early mornings or at dinner time to go workout much anymore. The crush of getting two small children fed, bathed and ready for bed on top of fitting in a workout is just too much. So I’m going to try to do some cardio at lunchtime at work then do some strength workouts online after the kids go to bed. We’ll see. I’m hoping that’s a good option because I seriously need to get my butt in gear.
So on that note, I thought I’d share our meal plan for the week. It’s really not the healthiest thing, but some good ideas to share for everyone.
- Sunday: Spiral Sliced Ham with my mom’s scalloped corn (I got a great deal on this ham on Target’s Cartwheel app so I couldn’t resist)
- Monday: Leftover ham is turned into Scalloped Potatoes and Ham
- Tuesday: Turkey Burgers (no buns) and Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges
- Wednesday: Orecchiette with Sausage Tomato Sauce (I’ve never made this before, but I thought this could go well together. I might save a little of the ground turkey from the previous night’s meal to throw in too)
- Thursday: Happy birthday, Bryn! (She’s asked to go out for dinner so it’s Mommy’s night off!)
